Bridget John

Hello! I’m Bridget.

I’m an adventurous Aussie who’s lived, worked and built businesses around the world, with 20 years of global experience in the outdoor, fashion, travel and lifestyle industries.

As a freelance brand consultant and project manager I work with businesses and teams of all sizes from start ups through to global organisations.

My Experience


I spent the first 15 years of my career in brand and retail marketing management for iconic global brands and major retailers across Australia and New Zealand, Asia Pacific, the UK & Europe.

Including APAC and then Global Trade Marketing Director at Quiksilver, Roxy and DC - leaders in the outdoor, surf, street, skate apparel and lifestyle category.

Based in Europe I led trade and retail marketing strategy, global go-to-market teams and operations for the 3 brands, servicing 1000’s of major wholesale accounts, speciality retailers and own brand retail doors across the EMEA, USA, APAC regions and emerging markets.

In 2016 my entrepreneurial spirit and passion for travel led me to founding my own business Nouvelle Nomad. Sustainable homewares, travel and lifestyle brand and ecommerce retailer. Shipping to clients globally with retail operations based between Australia and Morocco.

My big brand corporate experience paired with the last 7 years of building my own business has given me a unique set of skills, experience and world view.

As a consultant I’ve worked with CEOs, start up founders and global brand teams across a range of industries to build, launch and scale businesses, brands and projects.

Clients have included projects for the Movember Foundation, Yeti, various online brands and retailers, start ups and creative entrepreneurs.

Navigating the balancing act of commercial outcomes with brand story telling and effective creative. Maintaining global consistency while building in the flexibility for local markets.

I’ve headed up the visual merchandising programs and departments for 200+ door major retailers across Australia and New Zealand, Asia Pacific, the US, the UK and Europe.

Have rolled out 1,000sq m flagship retail concept stores through to shop-in-shop counters, brand pop ups and B2B trade shows around the world.

I know Marketing

I’ve led go-to-market strategy, teams and operations globally and across regions for cross channel campaigns, events, brand partnerships and product launches.

Providing high level leadership to regional marketing teams through to in-market execution.

I know Ecommerce

I’ve been an ecommerce founder for over 7 years. Building up my own sustainable homewares, travel and lifestyle brand to a profitable ‘right size for me’ business operating between continents.

Continuously keeping up to date with industry best practice needed to build and grow an ecommerce store in 2024.

I know Strategy

I’ve been both the facilitator of and a contributor to strategic planning at executive leadership and board level across a range of industries.

Working with founders of start ups through to the C-suite in global organisations. With experience in presenting corporate updates and leading business transformation initiatives.

I know Business

Crossing over from a corporate career into business ownership has perhaps been my biggest career challenge of all.

There’s a resilience, resourcefulness and grit that being an employee just can’t teach you like being a founder of your own start-up or business can.
